Money Matters: A Conversation with First Harrison Bank

What does it really take to build something sustainable—personally or professionally—when the financial world feels complex, fast-moving, and sometimes overwhelming?

Join us at The Root for an open, honest conversation with a panel of professionals from First Harrison Bank, bringing their expertise across business development, risk management, retail banking, and learning & development into one room…for you.

This isn’t a lecture. It’s a space to ask, learn, and walk away with clarity.

Together, we’ll explore topics like:

  • Affordability — navigating today’s economic landscape with confidence
  • Fraud & Security — how to protect yourself and your business in an increasingly digital world
  • Business Loans — what lenders are really looking for and how to position yourself well
  • Real Questions, Real Answers — an open Q&A designed around what you want to know

You’ll hear from a diverse panel of leaders who don’t just understand banking, they understand people, community, and growth.

Whether you’re a small business owner, entrepreneur, or simply someone looking to feel more confident in your financial decisions, this conversation is designed with you in mind.

PANELIST BIOS

Beth Moore

As Director of Retail Banking at First Harrison Bank, Beth Moore leads retail operations across multiple markets. Her focus is on building strong teams, elevating customer experience, and supporting strategic growth.

One of the aspects Beth values most about her work is developing people. She is deeply passionate about leadership development and helping others build the confidence and skills they need to succeed, both professionally and personally.

Outside of work, Beth enjoys spending time with family and friends, exploring the outdoors, traveling, and being out on the water.

Beth’s experience leading teams across multiple markets adds valuable insight to this panel, and we’re excited to share her perspective with our audience.

Christopher Griffith

Christopher Griffith serves as Learning & Development Coordinator at First Harrison Bank.

One of the aspects Christopher enjoys most about his role is seeing the positive outcomes of developing training curriculum, especially when an employee goes from feeling unsure about a topic to gaining the confidence and knowledge to apply it in their role. He is actively involved in community service on several boards, including the Harrison County Community Foundation, Harrison Springs Health Campus Advisory Board, Indiana Bankers Association Future Leadership Development Advisory Board, and the Harrison County Youth Advocacy Center, as well as volunteering with Junior Achievement.

Outside of work, Christopher has two passions: cooking, including owning a catering business called GriffCooks, and cheering on his favorite team as a lifelong St. Louis Blues hockey fan.

We’re glad to host Christopher Griffith on this panel and highlight the practical takeaways he brings to learning and development.

Devan Jackson

With roots in Harrison County, Indiana, Devan Jackson has grown her career at First Harrison Bank since the age of 19. Now serving as Vice President of Risk Management and Security over the bank, she brings a deep understanding of both the organization and the industry.

One of the aspects Devan enjoys most about banking is the ability to connect with her team and the communities First Harrison Bank supports. That connection-driven mindset carries into her community involvement, including consistent volunteer work with the Community Foundation of Southern Indiana.

Outside of work, Devan prioritizes time with family and friends and values quiet moments, whether she’s reading or staying active.

Devan’s perspective on risk and community makes her a meaningful contributor to this panel, and we’re happy she will be sharing her insights with our audience.

Jeff Hayes

Jeff Hayes is Senior Vice President and Director of Business Development at First Harrison Bank, based in New Albany, Indiana. In this role, he focuses on building and strengthening relationships, supporting business growth, and helping expand the Bank’s presence and impact across the communities it serves

Jeff is proud of the meaningful contributions the Bank and the Business Development team make to communities across Southern Indiana and Bullitt County. He values the opportunity to support growth through strong relationships and community connection and is actively involved with Junior Achievement of Kentuckiana.

Outside of work, Jeff enjoys spending time with his family. He has a lifelong passion for baseball and has played the sport since the age of six!

We’re happy to welcome Jeff to the panel and hear his insight on growth, relationships, and community impact.
